Reason bindbee exists_
Why Use Bindbee Instead of Ping One's Native API?
Building directly with Ping One's API means managing certificate-based authentication, learning their specific data schemas, handling rate limits, and maintaining the integration as their API evolves. Ping One requires a formal partner registration process and certificate signing requests just to get started. With Bindbee, you integrate once and support Ping One plus 73+ other HR systems through a single, consistent API.

FAQS_

Frequently asked questions

What data can I sync from PingOne with Bindbee?

Bindbee syncs PingOne users into its Employee and Employment models. That includes names, username, work email, mobile phone, job title, account status, avatar, custom attributes, and employment type.

What credentials does my customer need to connect PingOne?

An Environment ID, plus a Client ID and Client Secret from a PingOne Worker application with read access to identity data. Your customer enters these in Bindbee Link; credentials are never stored on your servers.

Is this the same as Ping Identity?

Yes. PingOne is Ping Identity's cloud identity platform. Bindbee connects to the PingOne Platform API for each customer's environment.

Does Bindbee support PingOne custom attributes?

Yes. Custom user attributes defined in PingOne come through in the custom_fields object on each Employee.

Can I detect deactivated PingOne users?

Yes. The employment_status field reflects the user's account status, so you can filter for inactive users and act on them, for example to revoke access in your product.

Why sync an identity provider instead of an HRIS?

Many customers treat their IdP as the source of truth for who has access. Syncing PingOne gives you an up-to-date user list for provisioning, access reviews, and seat management, even when the customer's HRIS isn't connected.

Does Bindbee sync compensation, payroll, or benefits from PingOne?

No. PingOne is an identity provider, not an HR or payroll system, so it doesn't hold that data. Bindbee can pull it from the customer's HRIS or payroll system through the same API.

How do I handle PingOne rate limits and token expiry?

You don't. Bindbee manages access tokens, rate limits, and retries against the PingOne API and serves your calls from synced data.

Is PingOne data available in real time?

Bindbee syncs PingOne on a schedule, not in real time. After the first sync, incremental syncs keep data current, and webhooks tell you when new data is ready. You can also trigger a sync through the API.
